On 31 July 2017 White Hart Associates and MHA MacIntyre Hudson went head to head in a Twenty-Twenty charity cricket match in support of The Royal Marsden. The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre that supported our good friend and fellow professional Andrew Burnham as be bravely battled leukaemia. Sadly Andrew lost his courageous battle back in February this year. In his memory however, both teams have renamed the annual industry cricket game The Andrew Burnham Trophy.
Having cancelled the game back in June due to inclement weather, we were pleased to see that the rescheduled game was played in dry and generally sunny conditions. Having lost last year WHA had a point to prove and headed into bat first, scoring a respectable 96 runs after the allotted 20 overs. MHA batted next, and after 8 overs it looked as though it would be close match. However, the MHA team “stepped up” the pace and reached 96 with 3 overs to play, becoming worthy winners of the 2017 Andrew Burnham Trophy.
The event was also covered and reported on by TTG, and pictures from the event can be seen in their weekly digital travel industry magazine here
After refreshments and the annual sports quiz, we are pleased to announce that £3,190.58 was raised and donated to The Royal Marsden.
We would to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended this industry event and the MHA team who helped organise it.
You will be pleased to hear that we will continue to organise this event and look forward to the 2018 Andrew Burnham Trophy.
