Once again ABTA Lifeline hosted its annual charity clay pigeon shoot, this time in a slightly different setting to the last: The Royal Berkshire Shooting School.
After navigating the country roads, the travel industry, donning their best ‘countryside attire’, gathered for a spot of breakfast and a dose of caffeine before the games began.
Trudie and the RBSS team gave us a briefing and we were allocated to our teams with suitably ‘punny’ names.
Each shoot mimicked the movements of game and so varied in difficulty. The instructors were there to provide a helping hand if needed and, whether first timers or those who had previously shot, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
After the final round had been fired we anxiously awaited the adding up of the scores. Mark’s team aka ‘The Von Traps’ were the group winners and the individual men and women’s winners were Stuart Burt and Claire Mulligan respectively.
The team then all headed to Miller of Mansfield for a well-earned delicious lunch.
Of course, despite the fun activities, this was all in aid of raising funds for ABTA Lifelife, an organisation who do wonderful work within the travel industry, supporting individuals and families who need it most. The shoot would not have been possible without Trudie and her brilliant team organising it each year. It is always a pleasure for WHA to attend.
Another big thank you to TTG for sponsoring the event.
