The 2016 Travel Industry calendar got off to a great start this year at Kings Place Gallery, Kings Cross, home of the 9th annual Big Tent Event hosted by Travlaw LLP. Individuals from every corner of the industry came together to listen to some of the leading experts in our field.
White Hart’s own Chris Photi had the pleasure of moderating the panel of guest speakers which featured Mark Tanzer, Chief Executive of ABTA; Simon Calder, renowned travel writer and broadcaster and Matt Gatenby, Partner at Travlaw, among other travel industry experts.
The panel covered a variety of topics including the current market for travel and gave particular focus to the recent acts of terrorism and how this has affected consumer behaviour. What was perhaps more surprising was the expanding market for holidays further afield. The diverse but complementary opinions from all made for fascinating listening.
Chris closed by posing the question of what the greatest challenge would be for the Travel Industry this coming year. The panel seemed “cautiously optimistic” for what we hope to be a great year in the world of travel.
The talk was followed by canapés, drinks and brilliant conversation.
